Welcome to the Pretty Pink Posh June Release Blog Hop & Giveaway. I am honored to be guest designing for Pretty Pink Posh’s June release. It’s also my first ever blog hop! This is day one of a two-day hop and you are probably here after reading Jennifer McGuire’s blog (Wow, my first blog hop and I’m after Jennifer McGuire. No pressure a’tall!). If you missed it, be sure to check it out.
Tropical Frame and Tropical Birds Miss You Card
For the first card I die cut the Tropical Frame die and left it intact to make it easier to color with my Copic markers. I also taped the edges using strips of Purple Tape to keep them white. On a separate panel I stamped and colored two flamingos from the adorable Tropical Birds stamp set as well as the sentiment.
I adhered a second Tropical Frame die to the colored one and layered it over the flamingos panel. Of course I had to whip out the white gel pen (never leave home without it!) for finishing touches, and I adorned with the Luau Mix Jewels.
Tropical Aloha Shaker Card
Using the Tropical Background Stencil I created a background on key lime card stock. Then, I die cut with the Aloha Shaker die using the same card colored card stock and sandwiched the Citrus Mix Jewels between acetate and vellum using two layers of foam tape.
Don’t be me. Do not remove the foam tape backing until you’ve powdered the sides of the tape. I took the backing off too soon, so I couldn’t powder and now the Jewels are stuck to the side. We’ll send this card to my mother. Shhhhh… (Moms love whatever we make them)
Summer Surfboards Card
The third card showcases the fun Summer Surfboard stamp set, which is perfect for that ‘just because’ card. I stamped three of the six available surfboards and used Copic markers to color them. Then, I applied masks, inked, and used the Waves Stencil to create a soft background.
Hibiscus Flowers Aloha Card
For my final card, I used Majello Mission Gold Watercolor to paint the beautiful Hibiscus Flowers stamp set. I cut masks from the stamps so I could overlap the elements on the paper. After painting, I cut out 3 “Aloha” pieces from the Aloha Shaker die and used a stamp from Floral Hearts stamp set (a prior release) for the sub sentiment.
There are four $25 gift certificates up for grabs (two winners each day). Winners are chosen at random along the blog hop. Comments must be left by 11:59 PM PST on 6/17/2019. Winners will be announced on the PPP blog.
