SugarPea Designs – New Release Day 4

It wouldn’t be summer without mermaids on the prowl and they’ve shimmied over to usher in day 4 of the SugarPea Designs Sneak Peek Week. We’re showing off new products from the June release all week and this Friday, June 21 at 6 PM EDT the products will be available in the SugarPea Designs store.

Annnnd, I did it again. I forgot to take snaps along the way. [oh the shame!]

To begin I stamped out several images from the Mermaid Kisses stamp set and colored with Copic markers. Following that I used the coordinating Mermaid Kisses SugarCuts to die cut the images. On a separate panel I blended a background using Distress Oxide ink in the colors: Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers, and Mermaid Lagoon.

I die cut with Scale Cover Plate and a panel of Tonic Pearlescent White cardstock. It has a subtle sheen and sparkle…very pretty though not easily picked up by my camera. I glued onto the inked panel and glued in some of the fallout pieces from the cover plate. Lastly, I affixed some of the pieces on top with thin foam tape and heat embossed a sentiment.

  1. I love how you made the background from an inked paper, and then added some white pieces back in. I have never done that. I have inked the pieces and put them all back individually. YOU ARE SMART. I did it the hard way. Thank you!!!
