Hi crafters. I’m back today with a one-layer belated birthday card (ooops) showcasing the sweet Squirrels stamp set from My Favorite Things (MFT). The Birdie Brown collection at MFT are amongst my favorite illustrations.
To begin I cut down a panel of Neenah Solar White 110# cardstock to 4.75″ x 6.75″. I stamped the stamps I planned on using on some Avery Removable Labels in order to cut masks. I then stamped on the cardstock and applied the mask. Using a circle die, I cut out a circle to use as the mask for the moon.
I used the MFT Drifts and Hills stencil, a blending brush, and Distress Inks to blend the background.
Grass: Crushed Olive, Forest Moss, Peeled Paint, Gathered Twigs.
Sky: Shaded Lilac, Seedless Preserves, Chipped Sapphire, Faded Jeans, and Black Soot
After finishing the background I used Copic markers to color the stamped areas.
Squirrels: W7, W5, W3, W1, 0. E55, E53, E51. E77, E74, E71, E70.
Tree Branches, Stump, Acorn Tops: E29, E27, E23, E21
Acorn Bottoms: E15, YR15, YG91, Y02
Leaves: YR68, Y15, R08
I white heat embossed a sentiment from the stamp set and then adhered the panel to a 5″ x 7″ card base of Neenah Solar White 110#. To embellish I used a black glaze gel pen to fill in the eyes and noses, a white gel pen for the stars and adhered Pretty Pink Posh Silver Mini Star Confetti to the sky.
