I can’t believe my nephew is about to become a teenager. I wanted to do a simple card for him that showed less bright colors than I normally use. This cute Critter Crowd stamp set from Simon Says Stamp is part of their fantastic STAMPtember 2019 release!
To begin I created masks for the stamps I wanted to use from the set (minus the sentiment. I didn’t mask that). Once I had the masks ready I stamped the critters and their accessories down on some Neenah Solar White 110# cardstock. After, I lightly applied some SSS Steel Blue ink about halfway up the panel and then used the SSS Extra Large Dots stencil to lightly cover the inked area with a bit more of the same color.
After the panel was finished stamping and inking, I used Copic markers to color.
Red: R22, R24, R29, R39. Toner Gray: T9, T7, T5, T3, T1, T0. Warm Gray: W7, W5, W3, W1, W0. Blue: B97, B95, B93, T1. Brown: E47, E44, E43, E42, E41, E40.
After coloring, I randomly stamped some of the icons in the set near the critters and used two sentiments from the stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black ink. I slightly trimmed the panel and adhered it to a PTI True Black card base.
