I cannot believe all the winter cards I’m doing. Fall just snuck right up on us and like many others I’m disoriented with the time change and it being dark so early. Well, I’m back today with another Mix It Up Challenge from SugarPea Designs. Be sure to check out the SugarPea Blog to see how to join in the fun and learn about the prizes to be won.
To begin, I cut masks for the stamps I wanted to use and then stamped onto a panel of Neenah Desert Storm cardstock. I then used Copic markers in shades of browns and greens to color the scene. I then took a white Prismacolor pencil to whiten the necessary areas.
Copic: T7, T3, T1, T0, 0, E57, E55, E53, E51, E47, E44, E42, E41, E87, E84, E81, YG67, YG63, YG61, G99, G94, G82.
After coloring I applied all of the masks to the colored stamps and used the Geo Snowflake stencil and Gina K Kraft ink to ink blend a background onto the Desert storm panel.
To finish up I used the Waffle Flower A2 Layers die set to cut the panel and then used another die from the set to cut a matting layer using The Stamp Market Mossy cardstock. I used a scrap of the Mossy cardstock to white heat emboss the sentiment from the Christmas Cheer stamp set and adhered it to the stenciled panel. Lastly, I adhered everything to a white card base.
