Ellen Hutson – Holiday Characters

Anyone else overwhelmed by the number of cards they still need to do and it’s already December 19th? Today, I did a really fun no-line coloring card using stamps and dies from Ellen Hutson.

To begin, I stamped the Santa and the holly from the Ellen Hutson Holiday Characters stamp set using Taylored Expressions Sea Salt Ink (thanks, Angelica!) and then I colored using Copic markers and a black fineliner was used to add back the eyes.

Copic. Reds: R59, R29, R24, R22. Grays: C3, C1, C0. Skin: E97, E21, E00. Greens: G28, G14, YG13, YG21.

After coloring, I used the coordinating Holiday Characters die cuts to cut out the shapes. On a panel of white cardstock, I used 3M Post-It tape to section off the card and then lightly inked with Distress Oxide inks in Weathered Wood with a little bit of Tumbled Glass on top of it.

I stamped the sentiment from the Ellen Hutson Retro Holiday Greetings stamp set using Versafine Onyx Black ink and then heat embossed the sentiment twice using Hero Arts Clear embossing powder.

I attached a mini action wobbler to the back of Santa and adhered the holly to the panel using thin foam squares. Lastly, I adhered the panel onto a white card base and used a white gel pen to add a bit of snow behind Santa.
