Waffle Flower – Be A Unicorn

I love this little unicorn! Well, it’s not so little as it takes up most of the card front. I’ve used it a couple of ways and can think of many more ways to use it. It’s so cute and I’m sure he’ll/she’ll bring a smile to the recipients’ faces.

Be A Unicorn – Love

For this first card, I am going with a rainbow theme. To begin I used the Waffle Flower Be A Unicorn die and cut with Neenah Solar White 80# cardstock. The die set comes with options for the hair, but I used the base unicorn die and colored with Copic markers:

Copic: R30, R00, R000 (Cheeks). NO, N1, N3, 0 (Body). R22, Y35, Y04 (Wings/Horn). RV10, R22, Y35, Y04, YG03, BG53, V12 (Hair).

After coloring, I cut down a piece of the Waffle Flower JJ’s Rainbows Paper Pad. Y’all this this paper pad is so fun and I highly recommend it. It’s thick and sturdy and the color combinations are beautiful!

On a scrap of black cardstock, I white heat embossed a sentiment from the Waffle Flower Jar Sentiments stamp set. I adhered the sentiment to the card and popped up the unicorn with foam squares. There was a bit of overhang, so I clipped his wing. Meh, offset is a good look.

To finish the card I embellished with Studio Katia Icy Sparkle Crystals.

Be A Unicorn – Happy Birthday

For my second card I took on a more mystical theme for a female’s birthday. She loves purple. For this one I used one of the extra dies for the hair. First, I cut out the unicorn using PTI Sweet Blush cardstock.

Using Altenew Gold Foil cardstock, I cut the unicorn again (I just laid small pieces of cardstock under the areas I wanted gold. This saved on cardstock). I also used one of the optional hair dies to cut from the gold foil cardstock as well. I wanted to highlight the cheeks and ears, so I used scraps from SSS Glitter White cardstock to cut pieces and inked with SSS Rose Apple ink.

On a sheet of Neenah Solar White 80# cardstock I ink blended using Distress Oxide Inks in: Blueprint Sketch, Wilted Violet, Spun Sugar, and Shaded Lilac. I applied splatters onto the background using Windsor & Newton White Gouache and then also Royal Talens Amsterdam Acrylic Ink in Light Gold.

On a sheet of SSS Vellum, I heat embossed a sentiment from the Waffle Flower Jar Sentiments stamp set using Hero Arts Gold embossing powder. I then used the SSS Stitched Circle die set to cut out the sentiment and adhered it to the background panel and then adhered the background panel to a white card base.

Using foam squares, I adhered the unicorn to the card base and then embellished with Pretty Pink Posh Gold Mini Stars.

I hope you pick up this little unicorn and give it a try. It’s just too cute. Thanks for stopping by and I’ll see you on the next project.
