Purple Onion Designs – Sunshine Lake

Hi everyone! I’m back today with a “just because” card from the Purple Onion Designs Sunshine Lake collection. I find having more generic sentiments on some cards comes in handy. Especially in quarantine where I’m mailing them for no specific event!

For this card, I used the following stamps from the collection: Cosmo, Coral & Neptune, Peony, Rocky Shore, and Dock. I also used a sentiment from the Sunshiny Sentiments set. I began by stamping onto Neenah Solar White 80# cardstock in Gina K Amalgam ink in Obsidian. I wanted to use my Brother ScanNCut; however, many of the stamps have open bits that won’t work. So, I went in with a pencil and closed any gaps and then ran through my the ScanNCut. I then colored with Copic markers.

On a second panel of white cardstock, I inked a background for the water. I used Distress Oxide inks in Salty Ocean, Cracked Pistachio, and Peacock Feathers, spritzed with water, and set aside to dry.

On a third panel of white cardstock I inked the top (for a sky) in Distress Oxide using Tumbled Glass and a touch of Salty Ocean. On the bottom, I inked with Antique Linen and used Copics to mimic sand.

I trimmed down panel #3 and adhered to panel #3 and then pieced the card together. I white heat embossed the sentiment onto vellum die cut from a puffy cloud die.

Such a fun set and there’s still a couple of days (until May 31st) to buy the entire Sunshine Lake collection at a discount! See you on the next project and thanks for stopping by.
