Pretty Pink Posh – Monkey Friends

Monkeys in the house! Good morning oh creative ones. Today, I’m sharing a slimline card I had a ball creating using products from the current June 2020 release from Pretty Pink Posh.

To begin, I stamped the monkeys and bananas from the Monkey Friends stamp set and die cut them with the Monkey Friends coordinating dies and colored them with Copic markers.

Next, on 3 panels of Neenah Solar White 110# cardstock I ink blended several different blends of greens using a few different Distress Oxide Ink combos from: Mowed Lawn, Pine Needles, Twisted Citron, Squeezed Lemonade, and Cracked Pistachio. These backgrounds were used to die cut several vines of leaves from the Stitched Leafy Borders die set.

Next, I die cut (3 times) the Nature Essentials standalone die from white cardstock. All of these pieces were colored with Copic markers except for the cloud. I lightly flicked the bottom of the clouds with an ink blender with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink on it.

Copic Coloring

  • Monkeys: E27, E23, E21, E42, E41, E51
  • Bananas: YR23, Y13, E25
  • Tree Trunks: E44, E42, E41
  • Tree Leaves (small single leaves): BG15, BG34, BG02,G00, YG21, YG23
  • Grass: BG15, BG34, BG02 G00
  • Bushes: BG57, BG15, YG23, YG21, G00

On a panel of white cardstock I ink blended a background using Distress Oxide Inks in Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass. I flicked Salty Ocean ink on top of the finished background.

To finish the card, I assembled the pieces, adhered them to the background, and cut off any excess hanging over the edge of the background. I used a combination of glue and thin foam squares for selective dimension.

I used Papertrey Ink cardstock in Classic Kraft for the card base and the background for the sentiments I white heat embossed using the Simple Sentiments stamp set. To finish the card, I embellished using Sparkling Clear Sequins.

That’s it for today’s card. This one took me a minute, but I love the colors on it. Thanks for stopping by the blog today and I’ll see you on the next project!
