Simon Says Stamp – Send Happiness Release

Today’s the day! The Send Happiness release from Simon Says Stamp is now available and I’m sharing a fun pick-me-up card I made using the Thoughtful Flowers stamp set.

For this card I began by cutting a panel of Neenah Solar White 80# cardstock for a slim line card. Next, I cut masks from the stamps I’d be using from the Thoughtful Flowers stamp set and set them aside. On the slimline panel I stamped using Gina K Amalgam Ink in Chocolate Truffle. I had every intention of Copic coloring the flowers.

Next, I applied the masks to the stamped images and inked using Distress Oxide Inks in Seedless Preserves, Worn Lipstick, Dried Marigold, Scattered Straw, and Mowed Lawn. I did do some wet flicks with a small paintbrush as well.

After pulling off the masks I really liked the contrast of the non-colored stamps and the background, so I decided to only use a Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen on the stamped images.

I selected 4 stamps from the stamp set and white heat embossed them on the panel after it was dry and then adhered the panel to a white card base. I embellished with some clear iridescent jewels and a white gel pen.

That’s it for today. Be sure to check out the full SSS Send Happiness release and the Simon Says Stamp Blog and Gallery for more release inspiration! Thanks for stopping by.
