Pretty Pink Posh – Stitched Leafy Borders

Hi Crafty peeps! Today I am sharing a fun “Missing You” card I made using products from the current release from Pretty Pink Posh.

To begin, I cut several leaf borders using the Stitched Leafy Borders (two of the three border options) from Neenah Solar White 110# cardstock. I then stamped the giraffe from the Jungle Additions stamp set from the same cardstock and used the Jungle Additions coordinating dies to cut out the giraffe.

I had a few small leaves handy leftover from another project (the small ones under the sentiment), so I used these as well. Those came from the Nature Essentials standalone die. I then colored all of these things with Copic Markers.

Copic Coloring

  • Giraffe: E44, E33, E31, E30, Y35
  • Leaves 1: YG67, YG23, YG17, YG21
  • Leaves 2: G28, G24, G20
  • Ground: E44, E42, E41, E50

On a panel of white cardstock, I lightly inked the background using Distress Oxide Inks in Forest Moss, Mowed Lawn, Twisted Citron, Shabby Shutters. Note, the dark colors were to fill in the background where the leaves were going to go, so I didn’t have bright colors beaming through. For the ground, I used Copic markers.

After coloring the leaves from the border sets, I used scissors to cut them apart. I used a combination of glue, thin foam, and thick foam adhesives to vary the dimension and then used large scissors to cut off the overflow.

To finish up, I adhered the giraffe to the background and white heat embossed a sentiment from the Simple Sentiments stamp set onto Papertrey Ink cardstock in Dark Chocolate. I adhered the sentiment strip to the background and adhered the background to a white card base.

That’s it for today’s card. Thanks for stopping by.
