I’m a wee bit late for Shark Week, but it did inspire this card for my nephew’s upcoming birthday. This adorable die is from My Favorite Things and I thought it would be fun to make him in felt and put him on an action wobbler.
To begin, I used the MFT Baby Shark die to die cut several colors of MFT felt: Black Licorice, Electric Red, Sweet Tooth, Steel Gray, and Natural. I also die cut the shark with white cardstock, so I could adhere the felt to it using Simon Says Stamp Craft Tacky Glue.
On a panel of Concord & 9th Sea Glass cardstock, I ink blended a background using Distress Oxide inks in Peacock Feathers, Mermaid Lagoon, Blueprint Sketch, and Black Soot. I then sprayed with water and blotted it dry.
Next, I used the MFT Under The Sea die set to cut from white cardstock and colored the rocks, coral, bubbles, and seaweed with Copic markers. Using a piece of MFT Natural cardstock, I die cut an ocean floor with the MFT Stitched Snow Drifts border dies. I ink blended the edges with Distress Oxide ink in Brushed Corduroy and accented with Copic Markers.
I assembled the ocean floor and then popped the shark up on an action wobbler and adhered them both to the inked background. Using the MFT Sharky Sentiments stamp set, I white heat embossed a sentiment onto black cardstock, cut it, and adhered it to the background. To finish I adhered the background to a white card based.
That’s it for today’s card. Thanks for stopping by!
