Good morning, crafters. There’s a cute new stamp available from Purple Onion Designs and Stacey Yacula. Pumpkin Charm is available in the shop now!
For my card I decided to do a color background and grayscale image. To begin, I stamped onto a panel of Neenah Solar White cardstock in 110# and then stamped again onto masking paper.
I cut out as much as I could, but these stamps being so intricate I knew I’d have to fill in some spots with Copic markers (in between the ladder rungs for example. The pumpkin pieces on the ground I cut out as separate masks.
I applied the masks to the stamped image and ink blended the background using Distress Oxide inks in Scattered Straw, Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade, Crackling Campfire, and Dusty Concord.
I then lifted the masks and colored with Copic markers in W9, W7, W5, W3, W2, W1, W0, and 0. I filled in between the ladder rungs that were white as a result of not cutting them out with the mask with Y19.
To finish I restamped the pumpkin image with Versafine Onyx black ink to really darken the outlines. I was finished with my Copic coloring and had left the stamp in my MISTI as I knew I’d want to restamp it because fine line elements were inked over such as grass and plants. I also used some gray colored pencils to add a bit of depth and shadowing. Finally, I stamped the “Happy Halloween” sentiment from the set onto the panel and then adhered the panel to a white card base.
