‘Tis the season? Not really, but I’m always rushing to get my holiday cards done and this year I’m rather enjoying doing them at my leisure. So, it’s more like, ‘Tis the time to be bombarded with holiday products and say, “WANT!”
Each year I look forward to Mama Elephant’s “Oh xxxxx tree” We’ve had the snowmen, cats, dogs, and now it’s penguins! I’ll be doing a couple of cards with this adorable Oh Penguin Tree set.
I stamped onto X-Press It blending card and colored the penguin tree with Copic markers:
- Penguins: T7, T5, W7, W5, C7, C5, N7, N5. W3, W1, W0 to shadow their bellies
- Top hat: C9, C7, C5
- Cheeks: R12
- Reds: R59, R39, R37
- Browns: E47, E44, E43
- Greens: YG99, YG97, YG95
- Orange: YR15, YR68, E43
- Yellow gold: Y28, Y26, Y23
After coloring, I used the coordinating die to cut out the colored stamp and set it aside. On a scrap piece of Hero Arts Pitch Black cardstock, I white heat embossed the sentiment from the stamp set and trimmed it down.
On a panel of Concord & 9th Cranberry cardstock, I ink blended around the edges with Distress ink in Black Soot. Next, I flicked Amsterdam Acrylic Ink in Light Gold on the panel and let it dry.
After it was dry, I adhered it to a white card base and adhered the tree and sentiment to the card using thin foam squares in black.
That’s it for this tree! I’m sure there will be another coming. Thanks for stopping by!
