Good evening, friends! Today, Simon Says Stamp launches their Make Merry release and it is available in the shop now!
I made an autumn-themed card using the beautiful Autumn Leaves stamp set. To begin, I chose the stamps I wanted to use on the card and white heat embossed a layer onto 110# cardstock and cut partial masks for those stamps. I learned a lesson the last time I did something like this, so this time I didn’t peel the backing paper off of the masks, I just laid them on top of the stamped and embossed images. While masking paper doesn’t leave a sticky residue we can feel, a grain of embossing powder clings to it viciously. After laying down the masks, I added another layer of leaves and then white heat embossed those.
Using Distress inks in Barn Door, Spiced Marmalade, and Fossilized Amber, I ink blended the lower half of the background panel. I used a paper towel to remove all of the ink sitting on top of the embossing.
Next, I die cut the thankful sentiment using the SSS/CZ Design Thankful 2 die (from a previous release) using white and Hero Arts Kraft Layering Paper. I adhered the thanks to the background and then cut a sub sentiment from the SSS Gratitude sentiment strips. I used what was leftover on my Fossilized Amber brush to give it a yellow tone.
I adhered the background to a white card base and then embellished with Studio Katia Gold Sparkle Crystals, (get some. they are fantastic).
Be sure to head over to the Simon Says Stamp website to check out this amazing new release! Thanks for stopping by!!
