Good morning, crafters. Today is a great day because The Sweetest Little Town release from Stacey Yacula Studio and Purple Onion Designs is available in the shop now. And, it’s so cute. A lot of great options for scene building as I’ve done for today’s card.
- Bakery Background
- Poinsettia (shopping goose)
- Street Light
- Timothy (hedgehog with gift)
- Wallace (penguin mail carrier)
- Holiday Messages Sentiment Set
To begin, the card I created masks for all of the stamps. That took a minute, but I prefer masking over cutouts most of the time. Because the only overlap of the stamping was the tops of the animal’s heads, the Mailbox, and the Street Light, I just taped the masks to the paper when I stamped the Bakery Background because I knew I’d want full stick when I needed to actually ink blend.
Tip: For rubber stamps I always use the Clear Mounting Stamp, so no foam backing needed.
After stamping, I colored all of the stamps with copious Copic colors. Say that 10x fast. Too many to list here, but if you have any questions, post a comment and I’ll write you back.
After coloring, I stuck on the masks and ink blended the sky and the street using Pinkfresh Studio Soft Lilac, Slumber, and Stargazer for the sky, and Altenew Evening Gray, Silver Lake, and Charcoal Suit for the street. I also used some toner gray Copic markers to vary the coloring of the street and apply light shadows.
I wanted a bit of snow on the street, so I used a Versamark marker to draw the ink onto the paper and Hero Arts White Puff Embossing Powder to create snow.
After that, I decided I wanted more snow, so I murdered a white gel pen by adding dots over this whole 5×7 card. Well, the base is 5×7 — I took a 1/4 inch off the top and side of the background panel.
To finish up, I adhered the background to a white card base and then stamped a sentiment from the Holiday Messages Sentiment Set onto Gina K Charcoal Brown cardstock.
There are so many more wonderful stamps in this collection, so be sure to check them all out! AND! Until Sunday, November 15th, 2020 the release can be purchased as a bundle for 30% off, which includes Stacey’s 20 illustrated stamps and the Holiday Messages sentiment set.
That’s it for today’s card. Thanks for stopping by.
