I had to use this cutie again. Today, we have green penguins. Anything is possible in card making (they’re supposed to be a tree, right?). This card features the Mama Elephant Oh Penguin Tree stamp set and coordinating dies.
To begin, I stamped the penguin image in Gina K Amalgam Ink in Obsidian and then colored with Copic markers:
- Penguins – YG45, YG41, R12, W2, W1, W0
- Red – R27, R24, R22
- Blue-Green – BG23, BG13, BG11
- Yellow – YR24, YR21, Y11
- Orange – YR12
After coloring, I used the coordinating dies to die cut the penguins and set aside. For the background, I trimmed varying widths of strips from colored cardstock in C&9 Poppy, C&9 Clover, SSS Audrey Blue, PTI Mint Julep, and Neenah Solar White 110#. I applied dot runner adhesive over printer paper, adhered the strips to it, and then cut it down a bit smaller than 4.25″ x 5.5″.
To finish, I adhered everything to a white card base using thin foam squares to slightly pop up the penguin tree.
I’m loving my little collection of trees from Mama Elephant! I can’t wait to see what they do next year. I’d love to see foxes or maybe a combination of the snowmen, dogs, cats, and penguins. Their foxes are really cute though. Thanks for stopping by!
