A while back I did a couple of cards using the MFT Holly Jolly Cardinals dies and on them, I had cut Santa hats from different colors of cardstock to test to see which color I preferred. For weeks I’ve had the bases of all of those Santa hats lying on my desk, so I thought it was time to finish them and use them. I need to cut 5 more to make the card, but it always feels good to use up scraps.
The colors used for the Santa hats are from The Stamp Market in Cherry Kisses, the remaining cardstock colors are from Hero Arts in Cranberry, Pesto, Palm, Paradise, Adriatic, and Plum. The card base uses MFT Sno Cone cardstock.
After finishing the Santa Hats, I white heat embossed the MFT City Block stamp onto the card base and then inked the card base with Distress Oxide Ink in Tumbled Glass and Faded Jeans.
For a sentiment I used a stamp from the Peace, Love, & Paws stamp set. I white heat embossed it onto a scrap of Hero Arts Pitch Black cardstock. I adhered the hats to the card base with thin foam squares and used thicker foam tape to adhere the sentiments. I then finished the card by cutting off any overlap.
There’s today’s card. I’ll see you on the next one and thanks for stopping by!
