Who doesn’t find a sloth to be festive? Today’s card features the Eat Snooze & Be Merry stamp set from Clearly Besotted.
To begin, I took this new stamp set and taped it to the door of my MISTI and stamped the whole thing onto masking paper. I then cut out masks for all of the non-sentiment stamps and set aside.
Next, I used the stamps to stamp onto Neenah Solar White 80# cardstock using Gina K Amalgam Ink in Obsidian to stamp the critters onto the panel. I had some gaping white spots, so I filled them with smaller stamps from the set as well as a couple of other stamp sets from Clearly Besotted: Holiday Huskies (the present) and Seasonal Scenes (the snowman). I created masks for those smaller stamps too using several sheets of full-stick Post-its.

I applied the masks and inked using Concord & 9th Ballet Slipper ink. Next, I pulled off the masks and colored with Copic markers:
- Sloths: E47, E44, E43, E42, E41, E40, E50
- Reds: E59, E37, E14
- Blue-Greens: BG09, BG05, BG13
- Yellow-Greens: YG17, YG25, YG01
After coloring I wasn’t 100% satisfied with the look. The pink was bothering me mostly because I had just done a pink background card, and it felt like something was missing. So, I reapplied all of the mask (thank goodness I didn’t rip them off or throw them out from the first time using them) and then I used the Simon Says Stamp Diagonal Stripes stencil and Concord & 9th Poppy ink to add stripes to the background. Then, I removed the stencil and masks and loved it.
On a scrap of Papertrey Ink cardstock in Tropical Teal I white heat embossed several sentiments from the set and die cut it and a second circle from white cardstock using Hero Arts Nesting Circle Infiniti dies. I popped it up with thin foam squares and applied the color panel to a white card base. To finish, I highlighted some areas with a white gel pen.

One more holiday card to go and I’m done. At the rate the USPS is moving, if I mail my cards tomorrow I’m sure people will get them by Easter. 😉

This is an adorable card. The background worked out great!!!
